The problem I'm facing is happening when I unplug the MacBook is iOS device: iTunes opens immediately after the unit disconnects independently to know if the device was manually ejected via iTunes before you leave. That option seems missing from the iTunes latest version update, but I digress. I recently deselected the option to open iTunes when my iOS devices connect to my MacBook and indeed, iTunes doesn't open when either becomes connected. Why iTunes opens after an iOS device is disconnected? It may be that anything turns on iTunes if it does not find the XML code. Make sure that under Edition > Preferences > advanced that iTunes has the value sharing iTunes library XML with other applications. Have to watch which loads and see if you can see what anyone associated media which can load up iTunes. Does not help.Īutoruns is a useful tool to identify and selectively disable the startup process. There is nothing in the start menu and I tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. No one else on this desk has the problem. When I connect to Windows 7, iTunes opens automatically.
